The oldest known word for the yew is the Hittite Eya\, 1750 BCE. Eya means 'eternity\,' and by extension 'to be touched by eternity.' \n2000 years ago\, at least half of the British Isles and large parts of mainland Europe were populated by yew tribes. The yew tree was also held sacred in the Americas\, particularly in the Pacific Northwest where local tribes were known to have worked with the medicinal properties of the yew. \nAll of these yew tribes recognized that 'to be touched' by a yew ignited healing\, wholeness and a re-connection with Source. \nDuring the early 1990's\, Michael\, while facing death\, was called to one such ancient female yew tree in his homeland of Scotland. If you are unable to attend in-person\, you can still register and watch Conference presentations live over Zoom. \nWe hope you can join us in person\, and enjoy a wonderful nature setting as we gather in community\, Heart to Heart. YMCA of the Rockies (www.ymcarockies.org) is the largest YMCA in the world and borders Rocky Mountain National Park. \nA beautiful vacation destination\, it was founded in 1907 and expands over 860 acres. You will likely encounter lots of wildlife on your visit\, including deer\, elk\, horses\, wild turkeys and magpies. There are many activities available at the YMCA\, including horseback riding on the trails and a lovely salt water pool. The rooms are spacious\, fresh and comfortable. \nA wonderful lineup of Conference speakers and movement presenters are scheduled\, along with a post-Conference workshop hosted by Michael Shea. \nConference registration includes access to video recordings of the live presentations for at least 90 days after the Conference. Together\, we will kindle the fire within to nourish our spirits and minds through the dark of winter and the challenges to come. \nThis very special weekend is a time to celebrate with and learn from each other\, a time to find power – in the old traditions\, in creative and artistic expression\, and in vibrant discussion and planning direction for the coming year.
