The Sacred Yew Exhibition in the oriel CRiC gallery will include work by painter Janis Fry and ceramicist Valerie James.

Janis was awe struck in 1975 by the 1,000 year old Aberglasney Yew tunnel. Since then she has gone on to research and write books and articles on the Yew, becoming an acknowledged specialist in ancient yews. The paintings to be shown at the CRiC Studio are an attempt to convey something of her enduring passion for this immortal giant. In 2012, her book, 'The God Tree' was published by Capall Bann and in 2014 Janis put the Defynnog Yew on the map as probably the oldest tree in Britain, possibly Europe.

Janis will present a talk: TAXUS SANCTUS: THE SACRED YEW IN WALES
